STEER COMPETITION

OPEN TO STEERS SIRED BY OR OUT OF A PUREBRED/FULLBLOOD OR LIM-FLEX PARENT

Must be weaned, de-horned, castrated, vaccinated and bunk adjusted

Suggested start weight 500-750 pounds

$50 ENTRY FEE

Steers to arrive the last 2 weeks of October to:

Broniek Family Farms –   115295 Sideroad 27-28,  Grand Valley, ON

There will be awards based on yield, gain and marbling. Awards announced at 50th Anniversary Celebration held at the Royal Winter Fair. Steers will be harvested/graded/scored at Norwich Packers. (September/October finish dates)

 

The goal is to promote the most efficient animal in the beef production system “THE LIMO STEER”

Broniek Family Farms plans to host 4-H and County Cattle Producer meetings at their location next summer to help us celebrate our 50th anniversary and to show case this pen of steers.

Steer consignor responsible for any vet/medicine, feed and yardage expenses. Each consignor is responsible to insure their animal. Steer consignor will be invoiced every 3 months for feed/yardage expense.

Cost per/lb of gain is $.90 up to the 1000lb weight and then it goes to $1.00/lb of gain after that

Norwich Packers will purchase the steers.

The first 50 members to put their names forward get in. One steer per member.  If the 50 steer limit is not reached there will be an opportunity to enter a second steer.
